What to Expect When Creating a Painting

Bring your art visions to life. You’ll share images, favorite colors, and stories that inspire you. I’ll keep you involved as the piece takes shape.

1. Getting Started

After we discuss your ideas by email or phone and agree on the size and scope, a ⅓ deposit is required before starting a sketch. Send along your inspirations and images — you’ll share colors, images, or memories that resonate with you. This helps me understand your perspective and the feeling you’d like the piece to capture.

3. Painting Process

Depending on the size and complexity of your project, paintings take 3–24 weeks to complete. Throughout this time, I’ll send occasional snapshots so you can see the work evolving. I love keeping this process collaborative — it’s a way to ensure the painting reflects your vision every step of the way.

4. Final Delivery

When your painting is complete and you’re delighted with the result, I’ll send the final invoice for the remaining balance and shipping cost. Your artwork will be carefully wrapped and shipped insured via UPS to your home.

2. Sketch & Approval

Within 2–4 weeks, I’ll create and share a draft sketch of your piece. Each commission includes two rounds of edits to ensure the design feels just right. Once the sketch is approved, I’ll send the second invoice (another ⅓) and begin painting.
